SUMMARY:Yoga in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:Relax the mind and strengthen the body with an all-levels yoga class and meditation session guided by Christina Fittipoldi in the tranquil setting of Stoneleigh. The gentle pace will allow us time to linger in poses and build a deeper connection to the body using our breath. \nPlease bring a mat\, water bottle\, and any props you may like to use. \nAbout our instructor: \nChristina Fittipoldi completed a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in May 2015 and began teaching a wide variety of asana movement at multiple studios. Eager to dive deeper\, she completed the 300-hour teacher training at Main Line Yoga Shala in December 2019 entitled “Agni Moksha.” She enjoys guiding students mindfully through safe and responsible movement using body and breath awareness\, allowing students to journey within.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in collaboration with Morris Arboretum to learn how goldenrods and asters can add beauty and biodiversity to any property. After an indoor lecture\, we will move out into Stoneleigh’s gardens to explore the plants and their pollinators in the landscape. \n With their stunning flowers\, goldenrods and asters are two of the hallmark plants of autumn. Not only are they beautiful\, but these plants also support hundreds of insects\, from bees and wasps to caterpillars and butterflies. This late-summer pairing offers crucial support to native insects\, and blooms after many other species have already flowered\, providing both beauty and wildlife resources all the way through the fall. \n Stoneleigh’s Engagement Manager Samantha Nestory\, will lead this program. The singing bowls grant the mind the opportunity to disconnect to turn inward. \nAbout our instructors: \nChristina Fittipoldi Completed a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in May 2015 and began teaching a wide variety of asana movement at multiple studios. Eager to dive deeper\, she completed the 300-hour teacher training at Main Line Yoga Shala in December 2019 entitled “Agni Moksha.” She enjoys guiding students mindfully through safe and responsible movement using body and breath awareness\, allowing students to journey within. \nMindie Hung: In 2017\, she became a certified vibrational sound therapy practitioner with the Vibrational Sound Association after her own healing journey began while experiencing the power of sound healing. Since then\, she has had many clients report feeling a deeper sense of connection to self\, feeling more relaxed\, better sleep and overall well-being. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon exploring the insides of the 19th century barns of Crow’s Nest Preserve. These four structures represent three of the styles typical of Chester County\, even as they have been renovated and adapted for reuse for the preserve operations and programs. \nWe’ll start in the visitor center barn\, an English style forebay barn typical of the Lake District\, for a brief slideshow of the barns (then and now) before venturing out to see the other three buildings. \nReturn to the visitor center for hot beverages and snacks after this meander. Restrooms are available at the visitor center as well as the second barn on the tour. \nDress for the weather; most of the barn interiors are not heated.

DESCRIPTION:Mindful birding combines bird watching with mindfulness techniques to develop heighted awareness and a deeper experience. SUMMARY:Tree Drawing for Beginners Workshop Series
DESCRIPTION:Registration is closed. Class began on October 1\, 2025. \nJoin artist Henry Martin for this four-session class at Stoneleigh designed for anyone who enjoys the natural world and wants to explore it more deeply through drawing. This is a basic drawing class highlighting (but not limited to) trees. The first week’s class will focus on paying attention to our perceptions through artistic exercises. In the second week\, we will analyze the structure of the plants we draw. The remaining weeks will allow us to explore the fun and joy we have with drawing\, with opportunities for self-directed focus and subjects.

DESCRIPTION:Did you know more than 40\,000 plants thrive at Stoneleigh: a natural garden? Grab gloves and join staff and fellow volunteers in weeding\, planting\, mulching\, and other seasonal garden projects. \nVolunteering with Natural Lands is a great way to learn more about the natural world\, give your time to a great cause\, and connect with like-minded people. \nThe health and safety of staff and volunteers is our highest priority during this volunteer event. Please review “before you go” details. \nCapacity is limited for this small-group event\, and pre-registration is required. If you sign-up\, please show-up. If you need to cancel\, please let us know so another volunteer can attend. All are welcome\, ages 12 and up. Children age 12-14 must be accompanied by an adult.
