SUMMARY:Natural Light Still Life Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Still life is a genre of photography that can be done no matter the weather. It allows the photographer to have control over the light\, the subject\, and the story being told.   \nJoin photographer Ginnie Lodge for an intimate\, hands-on workshop exploring the art of still life photography using natural light. Working in the cozy\, heated lower level of the Crow’s Nest barn—transformed into a studio for the day—you’ll learn how to arrange\, light\, and capture striking still life compositions using objects gathered from the preserve.  \nGinnie will demonstrate her process using both a mirrorless camera and simple techniques\, showing how to achieve rich\, Old Masters-style images through focal point control\, photo stacking\, and thoughtful editing. While participants are encouraged to bring an SLR or mirrorless camera and tripod\, the workshop is accessible to those using only a smartphone.  \nWith limited space\, each participant will receive individual guidance as they create their own still life photographs. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your creative approach\, this inspiring three-hour session offers a unique chance to develop your skills and experiment with natural light photography.  \nPlease note: The inclement weather date is Saturday\, March 14.  \nAbout the instructor: Ginnie Lodge is a local multi-genre photographer who delights in experimenting and creating with her camera… out in nature\, or on her kitchen counter. With a lifelong career as a teacher\, she enjoys bringing out the best in others with whom she explores the craft of photography. You can see some of her work at www.ginnielodge.com.
