SUMMARY:The Garden in Winter: A Creative Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Spend some time during the quiet of the new year exploring the garden in winter.   \nDuring this workshop\, we’ll make quick forays from Stoneleigh’s heated Pool House into the gardens\, noting the barebones beauty of trees in winter while scouting for birds\, squirrels\, foxes—and even their tracks if we have a bit of snow. Then we’ll return to the warmth of the Pool House to write\, taking inspiration from the surrounding views\, which include bog gardens flanked by arborvitae\, white pine\, and hemlock.   \nJoin us to banish the cold and dark days of January with reading\, writing\, and Stoneleigh’s inspiration.  \nPlease note: the inclement weather date for this event is Friday\, January 16\, 10:00 – 11:30 AM.  \nAbout the instructor: Catherine Staples teaches creative writing in the English and honors programs at Villanova University.
