DESCRIPTION:The Organ Historical Society (OHS) and Natural Lands present First Friday Organ Concerts in the Main House at Stoneleigh: a natural garden. These noontime concerts feature Stoneleigh’s mighty Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ. Local organists will perform a selection of sweeping musical pieces surrounded by the elegant beauty of the Tudor-revival style home. Come for the music and stay for the beauty of the garden sure to dazzle with autumnal color. \nMina Choi is an award-winning musician who has shared her talent and passion with communities worldwide. Raised in Dallas\, she has earned degrees and various research opportunities from prestigious institutions worldwide: Royal College of Music in London (BMus)\, Yale University (MM)\, Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands (MA)\, Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in Germany\, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (DMA). \nShe has received numerous awards and scholarships during her studies. Also\, Mina was First Prize Winner of Max Reger Organ Competition in Leeuwarden (the Netherlands)\, and Third Prize winner of Franz Schmidt International Organ Competition in Austria. She also performed at major venues in Europe including the Grosvenor Chapel and St. George’s Church (Hanover Square) in London; St. Lawrencekerk (Alkmaar)\, Oudekerk\, and Nieuwekerk in the Netherlands. \nMina has been an organist at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church (PA) since 2014\, and she also works at Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton\, New Jersey) as the Coordinator of Worship and Music for the Seminary’s daily chapel services. SUMMARY:Goldenrods and Asters: Autumn’s Superstars
DESCRIPTION:Join us in collaboration with Morris Arboretum to learn how goldenrods and asters can add beauty and biodiversity to any property. After an indoor lecture\, we will move out into Stoneleigh’s gardens to explore the plants and their pollinators in the landscape. \n With their stunning flowers\, goldenrods and asters are two of the hallmark plants of autumn. Not only are they beautiful\, but these plants also support hundreds of insects\, from bees and wasps to caterpillars and butterflies. This late-summer pairing offers crucial support to native insects\, and blooms after many other species have already flowered\, providing both beauty and wildlife resources all the way through the fall. \n Stoneleigh’s Engagement Manager Samantha Nestory\, will lead this program. Sam holds ecology and entomology degrees from the University of Delaware and is passionate about ecological gardening\, native plants\, and insect conservation. \n Please visit the Morris Arboretum website to register. The gentle pace will allow us time to linger in poses and build a deeper connection to the body using our breath. \nPlease bring a mat\, water bottle\, and any props you may like to use. \nAbout our instructor: \nChristina Fittipoldi completed a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in May 2015 and began teaching a wide variety of asana movement at multiple studios. Eager to dive deeper\, she completed the 300-hour teacher training at Main Line Yoga Shala in December 2019 entitled “Agni Moksha.” She enjoys guiding students mindfully through safe and responsible movement using body and breath awareness\, allowing students to journey within.

Come early to picnic on the lawn or wander through the summer garden. Bring a blanket or lawn chair\, settle in\, and enjoy a delightful outdoor concert filled with wit\, whimsy\, and timeless melodies. \nParking: \nGuests who purchase a Stoneleigh Parking Pass will be able to park (1) car in the Stoneleigh guest lot at 1829 East County Line Road\, Villanova. This parking lot will also be available for those who need accessible parking. \nAll other guests will park at the Villanova Law School parking garage (located at 299 N Spring Mill Road)\, which is approximately 10 minutes walking distance from the performance location.
