This comedic operetta of legal absurdity will be staged along with a fantastic selection of some of Gilbert and Sullivan’s other greatest hits. \nGates open at 5:00 PM. Come early to picnic on the lawn or wander through the summer garden. Bring a blanket or lawn chair\, settle in\, and enjoy a delightful outdoor concert filled with wit\, whimsy\, and timeless melodies. \nPlease note: the rain date for this event is Sunday\, August 16. \nAbout the performers: \nFounded in 1901\, The Savoy Company is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) non-profit theatrical organization that strives to promote community involvement and educational outreach while supporting eligible local charitable organizations through its annual production of one of thirteen extant works by Sir W.S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur S. Sullivan. \nSavoy’s membership represents a diverse group of volunteers drawn from the Greater Philadelphia area. We are committed to putting on the highest quality theatrical productions and sharing the artistic\, musical\, and cultural influences of Gilbert and Sullivan and their wonderful comic operas. \nThe Company offers opportunities for personal growth and community reinvestment for its members\, beneficiaries\, and audiences. Uniquely\, virtually all operations are delegated to and performed by committees and production staff consisting of Company members. Committee chairs and production staff are appointed each season by the sitting President. The committee chairs are responsible for directing and coordinating all efforts within the responsibility of their respective committees. In this way\, members are afforded an opportunity to share their unique skills both as performers & production staff as well as in their careers and endeavors outside of their responsibilities within the Company. \nParking: \nGuests who purchase a Stoneleigh Parking Pass will be able to park (1) car in the Stoneleigh guest lot at 1829 East County Line Road\, Villanova. This parking lot will also be available for those who need accessible parking. \nAll other guests will park at the Villanova Law School parking garage (located at 299 N Spring Mill Road)\, which is approximately 10 minutes’ walking distance from the performance location. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at Stroud Preserve as we celebrate the crisp autumn season with our NextGen Council. \nOur second annual Fall Festival brings together a selection of local artisans and vendors in Stroud’s charming barnyard space\, the perfect setting for an afternoon of community\, creativity\, and cheer. \nFestival highlights: \n\nLocal artisans and vendors*: Explore handmade goods\, unique crafts\, and locally sourced products from talented artisans and vendors in the community. \n\n\nAll ages craft corner: Enjoy creative activities for all ages\, including pressed flora/funga designs\, flower crowns\, and other festive seasonal fun. \n\n\nCostume contests: Dress you and your furry friend (well-behaved\, leashed pets only) in your seasonal best and join us for a costume contest (Pets\, Children\, and Adults) including a fun Masquerade Parade around 4:00 PM. \n\n\nLive music: Enjoy the soothing sounds of local acoustic guitarist Anna Spackman\, performing from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:Bring your creativity to this new ornament workshop designed for families. With the help of a parent or caregiver\, children ages six to 12 are invited to craft holiday ornaments using natural materials from the garden. We’ll use seed pods\, feathers\, pinecones\, and more to create cheerful décor perfect for your own home or gifting. \nParticipants will make – two to three ornaments during the workshop to take home. Ward Arborists.\n\nAt Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround \n\nSearch for clues for the Ollie Owl Scavenger Hunt.\nClimb logs\, build stick teepees\, hunt for bugs\, explore small streams\, and get a little dirty\, tired\, and inspired.\nFree play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.\nOllie Owl’s NaturePlayGround is designed for children ages 4 to 12 years old\, but older kids and adults have fun\, too.
