SUMMARY:Biodiversity Bash: Stoneleigh Bioblitz
DESCRIPTION:Curious who lives at Stoneleigh (besides all the beautiful native plants)? Come help us celebrate\, discover\, and document wildlife biodiversity at our garden. With native plants as the foundation\, Stoneleigh is working to build a garden that is both beautiful and biodiverse. Continued sightings of species never previously seen at Stoneleigh tell us our efforts are working.  \nJoin us as we continue to discover the different organisms that the garden supports: invertebrates\, fungi\, mammals\, reptiles\, birds\, and more. You’ll enjoy guided walks\, make discoveries and observations that help grow our understanding of Stoneleigh’s biodiversity\, and participate in community science while enjoying a day in the garden.  \nBiodiversity Bash Guided Walk Schedule:  \n\n11:00 – 11:45 AM\, Bird Walk; Insects and More; Fungi Fun \n\n\n12:00 – 12:45 PM\, Bird Walk; Insects and More; Fungi Fun \n\n\n1:00 – 1:45 PM\, Bird Walk; Insects and More; Fungi Fun \n\nGuided walks will meet and leave from the Pool House.   \nBeyond this schedule\, self-guided biodiversity walks and scavenger hunts as well as other learning opportunities will be available throughout the day. SUMMARY:Insect Safari for Kids
DESCRIPTION:Bugs are all around us. Underground\, in the air\, underwater… they’re everywhere! Despite their small size\, insects are among the most important animals on the planet\, supporting our ecosystems from the ground up. Stoneleigh is home to many different insects\, from tiny beetles to giant dragonflies.    \nKids\, grab your favorite adult and join us on an insect safari in the garden as we search for bugs of all sorts. We’ll learn about their fascinating relationships with plants\, humans\, and each other. Afterward\, you’ll be ready to embark on an insect safari in your own backyard.  \nThis event is made possible with generous support from    \nThe Kulicke Fund.
