Meet Us Outside Series – Birding near Glades Wildlife Refuge

May 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This gathering is exclusive to members of the Conservationists, Natural Lands’ leadership annual gift society, and their guests.

Get a first-hand look at the globally significant migration of Red Knots on the Delaware Bayshore, along with other inland birds. Led by Glades Wildlife Refuge Manager Zac Bohm and Assistant Preserve Manager Dustin Welch, we will start at Fortescue Beach in Fortescue, NJ—a Red Knot migration hot spot. Following our time at Fortescue, we will drive 15 minutes further into Glades Wildlife Refuge for a walk to Turkey Point to look for eagles, ospreys, and more.

This nature-based outing will include stationary birdwatching, and a one-mile walk at sea-level terrain. Binoculars are highly recommended; we will have extras available and a spotting scope.

Space is limited.

To learn more about trail length and conditions, contact Cathy Greenland at cgreenland at natlands.org or 610-353-5587 ext 218.
